What a find, this is an absolute dream! I love it so much, the colour, the texture the shape! It would have been an old preserves jar but fast forward to now and this is certainly a show piece! The rare green is from the far west and wasn’t made in bulk so is much harder to find than the well known yellow. The bottom of the pot would have remained unglazed so they could go in the ground and keep preserves cool. This one has fantastic patina and it’s a lovely big chunky size! Truly special!
