Occasionally you get a piece like this in and you just can’t sell it because it’s too stunning and then you think no the husband is gonna kill me! So here it is one of my favourite pieces. I love this victorian piece firstly because of that amazing blue and secondly because it’s such a rare piece and I feel so lucky to get to be a temporary home for bits like this, They are such a window into the past!
They are estimated to have been made around 1790-1810, these ceramic Perfumer Jars would have been used by only the best blenders in London, this one resident on Oxford Street! This has beautiful crazing and a few small chips due to age but does have its original lid and text. It is in the strongest blue which is almost electric.
