Marie-Marcelle de Coubertin (often signing as M. M. de Coubertin) was a French artist, primarily known for her watercolor paintings. Born in 1889, she passed away in 1978 and was the niece of Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games
I am very in love with vintage oil paintings at the moment, this one is stunning the colours are just beautiful, she’s also huge! She comes framed in the most incredible frame; it’s a large one with a gorgeous decorative carving. The flowers are stunning set off by the beautiful background, this is an old piece so has some knocks but they go unnoticed due to the beauty in the painting once up, see pictures.
