Antique Famous Charles Jacque Barbazion Sheep 1855
This is probably my most special find to date when it comes to art, this piece is by Charles Jacque 1813-1894, he is a huge artist, prints of his work are available to buy and if you visit places like the New York Metropolitan Art Museam you’ll be able to view further paintings of his sheep. His work has gone for £10’000 at auction, this particular piece is from 1855, a beautiful study of sheep in Barbazion. He was born in Paris but moved out to Barbazion in 1849 where he stayed until his death.
This is a beautiful piece on board, her bottom corner is worn but this is a piece for a true collector. The antique we all want!
