This is a remarkable piece, early 19C/late 18C - you just don’t find these they are incredibly rare and this one is just stunning. The colours are beautiful with the chippy paint, that text is the real showstopper and perfectly finishes the piece. It’s a large piece, it would have originally been in a church probably connected to other Saints you can see the wood marks where this has become separated from the wooden plinths in the church. Well worn and aged but that’s what this piece is about, a true piece of history! I love it! What a find! She has some historic work which has been treated.
