I do have this thing for the French portraits. It's something that Mr Ivy Joan doesn't really understand (he's more into the boats!) This would look superb on a dark wall - a great Parisian find! This portrait does have some damage - as you can see there is a rip in the canvas but actually we just think it adds some edge to this absolutely gorgeous painting. Cracked paint, chips, sounds right up my street!
