I think this is the loveliest token of someone's passing. I wish it was something we still did now, as it’s a lovely gesture. Imagine if you had a few of these for people in your garden near a bench so you could sit and take a moment to remember them. Such a lovely idea. These pieces are incredibly rustic so if you like your vintage a little more perfect then there probably aren't for you! Originally they would have been found at graves so they are well weathered. From 1944, I love that it looks like it has a border, it looks to be painted on at a later date.
