I think this is the loveliest token of someone's passing. I wish it was something we still did now, as it’s a lovely gesture. Imagine if you had a few of these for people in your garden near a bench so you could sit and take a moment to remember them. Such a lovely idea. These pieces are incredibly rustic so if you like your vintage a little more perfect then there probably aren't for you! Originally they would have been found at graves so they are well weathered, this one dates back to 1934. I love this one, the wear sits beautifully on it, those rust spots add the perfect character and on the side two piece of metal to perhaps hang it over a cross, a lovely extra detail.
